Country Night

How about a simple, no-frills, original love song this week? I wrote “Country Night” as a young man and it’s the sort of love a young man should believe in. I’d like to think that I’ve retained a little of that innocence, even though the reference in the song to “growing old” has caught up with me.

Right after you wrote that song, you and I went to Grandmother’s house to play it for her. She loved to hear us perform. I remember watching her and during the last verse, she looked at the picture of Grandfather she always kept close by … and ever so gently, a tear slipped down her cheek.
Your songs have touched listeners from the time you began to compose. I’m so glad you shared them with me. 🎼🎶🫶

    • Thanks so much for sharing that story with me, Nancy. I didn’t remember that. And thanks for your very kind words and for being willing to include my songs on your albums!
